Dell Systems Management Foundations

Introduction

In today's business world, greater reliance is placed on network infrastructures than ever before. With the emergence of E-commerce and business-to-business models, technology is revolutionizing the business industry. These new business practices allow for zero tolerance in server downtime. When a mission-critical server becomes unavailable to end-users and customers, the results can be catastrophic. Some companies' "burn rate" during server downtime is in the range of millions of dollars per hour of downtime. Server downtime puts enormous strain on IT professionals, adding to their never-ending lists of responsibilities.

Dell OpenManage tools are designed to automate the process of system management, thus allowing for a more proactive management approach.
