Course Overview

This class will explore the basic principles of business continuance. This will cover storage technology, ranging from interface options to configuration and Dell™ product offerings. It is designed to provide a foundation for further study; therefore, many of the topics will be dealt with in general terms.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to complete each of the following actions:

Define mass storage and describe how it differs from temporary storage.

Identify the different types of mass storage devices.

Describe the interfaces used to connect to mass storage devices.

Describe how to increase data availability and reduce the need for data recovery using Dell hardware.

Describe the three architectures in which mass storage devices are used and how the data recovery methods are affected by the storage architecture.

Describe the need for storage management software and what management software Dell offers.

Describe the Dell PowerVault™ and Dell | EMC storage product line.
