Dell PowerEdge 1650

ServerWorks CNB HE-SL Chipset

The PowerEdge 1650 incorporates the ServerWorks Corporation CNB HE-SL (Champion North Bridge) chipset for system memory, I/O and processor interfacing. The CNB is designed to support Intel's FC-PGA370 Pentium III 32 bit processor family, SDRAM Memory technology and PCI system I/O bus. The HE-SL chipset is comprised of three primary devices:

  • HE-SL - champion memory and I/O controller
  • CIOB30 - champion I/O bridge
  • CSB5 - champion south bridge
The HE-SL can be configured into a 1-way or 2-way processor configuration. Both the CNB and CIOB chips require heatsinks for cooling.
