Dell PowerEdge 1650

Training Goals and Objectives

This course will prepare participants to install, configure, and support the Dell PowerEdge 1650 server. It is designed as an elective component to the Dell Certified Enterprise Engineer Associates level course, and assumes familiarity with general PowerEdge technology.

Objectives

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • Accurately identify the features of the PowerEdge 1650, including:
    • Product benefits
    • Basic system technology (processor, chipset, memory, integrated devices, chassis, racking options)

  • Accurately identify, configure and troubleshoot the PowerEdge 1650 factory installed hardware components and features, including:
    • Chassis
    • Processor
    • System Board (including chipset)
    • Memory
    • Backplane and daughter board
    • Video
    • Network Interface Cards
    • Integrated RAID controller (ROMB)
    • Embedded Remote Access (ERA)

  • Accurately identify the correct procedures for using and/or updating PowerEdge 1650 firmware and software, including
    • BIOS and System Setup program
    • Support applications found on the PowerEdge utility partition
    • Support applications found on the Dell Server Assistant CD.
