The Dell PowerEdge 4600's system board features a jumper bank with settings for EMI reduction, the system password, and the system configuration settings. Click on the blue square within the picture below to see a close-up of the jumper bank.

 Jumper   Setting   Description

  SPREAD JUMPERED   Enables spread-spectrum clocking for EMI reduction (do not change).  

  PASSWRD JUMPERED   The password feature is enabled. (Default)  

  UNJUMPERED   The password feature is disabled.  

  NVRAM_CLR UNJUMPERED   The configuration settings are retained at system boot. (Default)  

  JUMPERED   The configuration settings are cleared at next system boot. (If the configuration settings become corrupted to the point where the system will not boot, install the jumper plug and boot the system. Remove the jumper before restoring the configuration information.)  

  RSVD UNJUMPERED   Reserved (do not change).(Default)
