Course Overview

This course provides the information needed for successful completion of the PowerEdge Server Foundation Certification Exam. Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify system architecture and hardware features for currently available PowerEdge servers.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of component location and design features for current PowerEdge chassis designs.

  • Identify Dell's rack mounting systems and accessories for use in racking systems.

  • Identify System Setup Program (BIOS) options found on PowerEdge servers and explain the effect these settings have on system function.

  • Identify the correct procedure for updating the BIOS, implementing an asset tag, and updating firmware on a PowerEdge server.

  • Identify the correct procedure for using the Dell Server Assistant to set up drive arrays and install supported Microsoft® operating systems on a PowerEdge server.

  • Identify the correct procedure for using the support applications found on the PowerEdge utility partition and the Dell Server Assistant.
