Integrated PCI Expansion Slots

The PowerEdge 1650 provides 2 PCI expansion card slots via a riser card. There are two options for the riser card:
  • Two 64-bit/66MHz slots on PCI bus 2. (Click on the image below to switch between the front and rear views.)

  • One 1x64-bit/66MHz slot on PCI bus 2, and 1x32/33Mhz on compatibility PCI bus 0. This 32-bit PCI slot can be used for 5V PCI add-in cards, and is required for DRAC3. (Click on the image below to switch between the front and rear views.)

  • No ISA slots are provided on the PowerEdge 1650
  • The system supports one full length PCI card, in the top PCI slot.
  • The bottom slot only supports a half-length PCI add-in card. This slot can be designated for the DRAC3 card or a 5V PCI add-in card.

NOTE: The PCI slots are not hot-plug capable

 Removing a PCI Card

IMPORTANT - More Information NOTE: Before the Riser board can be removed from the system all PCI cards must be removed. Please see below for removal instructions.

Step 1: Rotate the thumbscrew at the back of the system counterclockwise, until the expansion card latch is released from the chassis.

Step 3: Remove the PCI expansion card from the riser board.

Riser board removal

To remove the riser board, simply grasp the board at both ends and gently lift it straight out from the system board.
