Dell PowerEdge 2650

ERA- Embedded Remote Access

The PowerEdge 2650 is one of the first Dell systems to feature Embedded Remote Access (ERA). ERA utilizes ESM4, which integrates DRACIII remote management functions with similar management functions of ESM3. ERA also incorporates virtualization of CD, LS120, and console redirection on the system board.

ERA offers virtually the same features as DRAC 3; however, since ERA is embedded, it offers the advantage of not consuming a PCI slot. ERA is particularly valuable for rack-optimized servers because it enables the server to be deployed without keyboard, video or mouse cables.

Unlike DRAC 3, ERA does not support an optional modem, battery back-up, or AC adapter.

IMPORTANT - More Information NOTE: The PowerEdge 2650 does not support an add-in DRAC III.
