Security features
The PowerEdge 2650 has the following security features:
  • Cover Lock- a lock is provided on the front bezel. This provides security for all internal components.
  • Power Off Security- the control panel is designed so that the power switch may not be accidentally activated/deactivated. The lock on the bezel secures the switch behind the bezel. The power button may also be diasbled by using the Secure Mode BIOS option as listed below.
  • Intrusion Alert- the chassis includes a switch that is triggered when the top cover is removed. This switch sends a signal to the server management controller. When enabled, the management software will provide notification that the cover has been opened. This feature is battery-backed and operational even if the system is powered off and unplugged. Bezel intrusion can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS, but chassis intrusion cannot be disabled.
  • Secure Mode- the BIOS provides the option to enter a secure boot mode via Setup. This mode includes the option to lock out the power and NMI switches on the Control Panel.
