Dell PowerEdge 2650

Cable Management

The PowerEdge 2650 supports a newly designed cable management arm similar to the one used in the PowerEdge 1650. The cable management arm is used to route the cables from the back of the server to the cable routing channels in the 4-post rack. The new design is intended to simplify the installation procedure by eliminating the need to use velcro straps to secure the cables in place. Instead, you can simply lay the cables down inside the cable management arm. A detailed description of how to install the cable management arm is provided below.

IMPORTANT - More Information   NOTE: The racking and cable management steps are listed separately for clarity in this course. In an actual PowerEdge 2650 installation, the cable management installation process should begin after Step 4 of the racking instructions found on the previous page.

The following procedure outlines the process for installing the cable management hardware for the PowerEdge 2650.

 Installing Cable Management Hardware

Step 1: Push the tab on the back end of the cable-management arm into the latch on the end of the slide assembly. The latch clicks when locked.
