OpenManage Components

Dell OpenManage IT Assistant

IT Assistant is the premier Dell management application interface for managing and monitoring SNMP, DMI, and CIM-instrumented systems in a network. It acts as the central management station, allowing system administrators to view multiple Dell servers or clients from a single interface and from one or several locations.

To identify the systems to be managed, the IT Assistant offers a user-friendly discovery method. Servers can be discovered based upon:

  • IP address

  • Range of IP addresses

  • Subnet

  • IPX address

  • Host name

After the discovery process, IT Assistant can be used to manage and configure the servers remotely. IT Assistant allows the technical staff to be alerted to events on all Dell systems from a central console and to view BIOS, driver, MIB, and DMI information.
