OpenManage Components

Dell Server Assistant

Dell Server Assistant (also known as the Dell OpenManage Server Assistant) is a bootable, stand-alone CD that provides the tools required to set up and configure new Dell PowerEdge system components and software. It carries the latest available drivers for Dell PowerEdge™ servers so that the installation of the operating system along with the required device drivers appears to the user as a single operation. Supported operating systems include Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000, Novell NetWare, and Red Hat Linux.

The Dell Server Assistant can also be used to:
  • Create boot diskettes with CD-ROM support

  • Create a system utility partition containing tools for diagnostics and configuration

  • Create or configure RAIDs with Array Manager
OpenManage CD Subscription Service

The OpenManage package is updated several times a year, and users can stay up-to-date with new releases by enrolling in the OpenManage Subscription Service. An annual subscription includes periodic updates to the Dell OpenManage Server Assistant CD, the Dell OpenManage Systems Management CD and the Dell Online Documentation CD. The OpenManage Subscription Service is applicable only to Dell PowerEdge servers purchased within the last five years.
