System Setup Program (BIOS) and Firmware

PowerEdge 7150 BIOS

The PowerEdge 7150 and 8450 share a common interface for the BIOS. The layout and fields for the two systems will be very similar with different options available depending upon the system and the configuration.
Navigation
To enter the System Setup program perform the following steps:
  1. Turn the system on if it is powered off.

If the system is already on, restart it.

  2. Press <F2> immediately after the Dell logo is displayed.

If the operating system begins to load into memory, let the system complete the load operation; then shut down the system and try again.

Once the system is in the System Setup program, the following key strokes are used to navigate the BIOS and perform setup tasks:
  • Left and right arrow keys are used for navigating the menu bar and selecting different pages.

  • Up and down arrow keys are used to move through the setup items on the current page.

  • Tab selects fields within an item (for example, minutes within the time item).

  • Enter will provide access to a submenu if a highlighted item has more options.

  • F10 saves changes and exits the BIOS.

  • ESC exits the BIOS without saving changes.
