Extensible Firmware Interface

Overview

The PowerEdge 7150 incorporates an additional system feature called the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI). The EFI is used on current 64-bit systems as the method of connecting the software to the hardware. The EFI is flashable like other firmware, and future versions may incorporate additional features, possibly even a graphical user interface. The image below illustrates the relationship of the EFI to the system and the software.
