Boot Maintenance Manager

The Boot Maintenance Manager menu has options for modifying the available boot options for the system. It must be used to change boot options to match the state of the system if the operating system is removed or reinstalled in a different location.

Boot options maintenance menu
  • Boot from a File allows the system to boot to a specified file.

  • Add a Boot Option allows an entry to be added to the Select Boot Option menu.

  • Delete Boot Option(s) will remove an entry from the Select Boot Option menu.

  • Change Boot Order allows options to be reordered within the Select Boot Option menu.

  • Manage BootNext Setting is an option for configuring how the system will boot the next time it is restarted.

  • Set Auto Boot TimeOut is used to set the time the system will wait before booting to the default boot option.

  • Cold Reset powers the system down for a cold restart.

  • Exit returns to EFI Select Boot Option Menu mode.

NOTE:   If an option is added to the boot menu, it will remain there until it is removed using the Delete Boot Option(s) menu choice as shown above. Since menu information is stored in firmware, an operating system may be removed from the hard drive of the system and still show up as a choice in the boot menu. The boot option will not function properly in this situation. The EFI should always be updated to reflect any system changes.
