Main Menu

The EFI introduces a new step to the boot process. Once the system has completed POST, the EFI Boot menu will load from firmware before the system proceeds with the boot process. From the main menu various boot options will be available depending upon system configuration:

Boot Option Menu
  • Diskette Drive allows booting to the floppy drive (or LS-120 drive in the case of the 7150).

  • CD-ROM Drive will allow the system to load a bootable CD such as an operating system CD.

  • Operating System choices will be available once they are added to the EFI boot menu.

  • Hard Drives may also be booted to directly from the menu.

  • PXE Boot allows the option of booting directly to LAN.

  • Utilities under the maintenance menu permits access to more EFI options and system tools.
