Main Menu
Adaptec Configuration Utility Main Menu

The Main menu will appear after <Ctrl> <A> has been pressed at the appropriate time during system POST. This screen has three selections:

  • Container Configuration Utility allows access to all RAID setup functions, and is only available on RAID controllers.

  • SCSISelect Utility is found on all recent Adaptec SCSI and RAID controllers and allows basic configuration of SCSI features not related to RAID functionality.

  • Disk Utilities is found on all recent Adaptec SCSI and RAID controllers and allows management (low-level formatting and information) of drives attached to the controller.

The RAID features of the controller are accessed in the Container Configuration Utility, which is covered on the following pages.

NOTE   The preferred method of configuring a drive array when setting up a PowerEdge server is by using the Dell Server Assistant CD. This procedure is detailed later in the course, and should be used whenever practical.
